ABOUT

Jas Cooke is an illustrator and artist based in the South of England. Currently an MA Illustration student at Arts University Bournemouth, her work delves into the realms of narrative, design, science fiction and speculation, always looking to create emotionality within.Jas' expanding skillset ranges from traditional works to Procreate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Sony Vegas Pro. She has completed private freelance commissions, exhibited in shows such as New Designers, and participated in non-profit collaboration projects. As of July 2023, Jas completed her bachelor's degree, achieving a first class honours in illustration.

THE BATSFORD PRIZE 2024

'Gravity Well' is a mixed media artwork, created using scrape painting techniques and digital drawing. It explores the power of gravitational pull and the human connection through warped, textural space.


PLAN Z

Can we survive the ever looming end of the world? Plan Z deals with the significance of humanity on a cinematic, universal scale. It was displayed in print at AUB's graduate Summer Show and New Designers in London.


FLIGHT: A DICK GRAYSON ZINE

Collaborative, non-profit zine project for which Jas contributed to as page and cover artist. All profits were donated to the Worldwide Orphan Foundation.


DAY AND NIGHT

Day and Night is a wordless short comic that explores the consequences of curiosity when the twilight zone is breached.


PEN GALLERY RISOGRAPH SHOWCASE

During the development of above project Day and Night, a modified page was printed and displayed as part of Pen Gallery's Risograph Showcase in Poole.
